Article: Reasons NOT to Share Your Account

Despite being against the rules, there are still people who lend their AQW accounts. If the rules are not enough to convince you, here's a list of reasons why you should never share your account:

As a rule of thumb, strangers can't be trusted.
Think about it. Who would be so willing to spend so much money on people they've just met?

Never give your password!
Do you even have a backup plan once that person has access to your account? If you encounter people who ask for your pass, report them immediately before they trick someone else.

Report 'em!
But what about people that you genuinely trust? Take note that even they could mess up.

They might chat in your account.
Imagine someone else using your account in a public map. Now imagine them chatting and replying to people who message them. What if they let a few bad words slip? What if they react negatively to everyone around them?
You'll be labeled a Scumbag Steve.
The fun part is when you log back in only to find everyone hating you for unknown reasons.

Your inventory will be in chaos.
No, not chaorrupted. The borrower may unintentionally fill your bag with junk items you don't need. Or worse, sell items they think you don't need. That moment when they sell your precious rare items...

If not getting rid of items, they might mess up the enhancements you placed on your sets. Expect items to be withdrawn from or stored in your bank. And you only realize that when you're about to use them.

Just say "no."
Sometimes, they just want to try classes in your account that they don't have. In that case, refuse and state that you don't want to risk your account. If they can't understand that, they're not your friends.

They might share your password.
This can happen intentionally or unintentionally like saving it in an Internet cafe. It's not their account. What makes you think they'll take good care of it?

There's no need to share accounts.
Siblings or friends don't need to share an AQW account. Making one is free. Besides, how are you gonna enjoy the game if you're forced to take turns using the same account? And when you log in, how would you know that other person is not using the account at that moment?

Notice how one of you winds up becoming the boss of that account. Conflict may arise.

They might act on revenge.
You'll be surprised by the number of enemies you make. And you never know when your "trusted" allies suddenly become your worst foes. Best keep your account away from them.

It will make you look irresponsible.
Seriously, it does. When you start crying over your hacked account, people would be telling you not to give your password in the first place.

Some guilds may even have high standards for their members and this will leave a mark on your reputation.

You don't return favors by lending your accounts.
If someone tells you to share your account because you owe them something, refuse. Unethical return of favors is why even the nicest people end up doing dirty work for corrupt people with power. Don't let such things control you.

It's against the rules.
People just can't seem to remember this. This rule was made to protect you and your account. The AQW character you created is in some way a reflection of yourself. Everyone should respect the fact that you simply don't want to risk your account to scamming or mishandling.

If anybody keeps begging for your password, report them.

You might wanna press "u" instead.
